We have an exciting opportunity for a Receptionist to join Brooklands College’s Admissions Team initially on a 6 Month FTC. There may be scope for this role to become permanent, which will include a mixture of reception and admissions duties. We are looking for a Receptionist/Switchboard operator to provide a professional and helpful front of house service at the College with some admissions duties which will be required with this role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for Reception/Switchboard will work on all aspects of the provision of information about the College to potential & existing students and customers. In addition to responding to enquiries from prospective students and customers, the team offers a wide range of functions to provide a comprehensive and supportive service.
Duties will include the day-to-day and evening operations of reception and switchboard, processing of incoming and outgoing telephone calls, greeting and directing visitors to the College, operation of a franking machine and dealing with all College post. Additionally, the post holder will provide administrative assistance to Admissions and use of College Enrolment system. Coordinating First Aid assistance as needed.
Excellent customer care, communication skills and confidence in and experience of using a computer in a work environment is essential. Applicants should have good IT experience and good administrative skills. Although experience of using a switchboard and fax machine would be an advantage, training on College systems will be provided
